APRF / APRA Grants and Scholarship Program

The Arizona Parks & Recreation Fellowship and the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association invites you to unlock your potential and invest in your professional development through our scholarship and certification assistance program.

  • Michael A. Ramnes Professional Scholarships to attend the NRPA Conference or an NRPA Management School ($750)
  • Dave Bang Associates Professional Scholarship to attend a non-NRPA related conference or educational opportunity ($500 in-state or $750 out-of-state)
  • College Scholarships for full-time students enrolled in parks & recreation or other appropriate leisure degree programs ($500)
  • College Scholarships for full-time working professionals who are enrolled in parks & recreation or other appropriate leisure degree programs ($500) 
  • Professional Certification reimbursement grant for professionals to assist with the cost of course or certification test ($150)

  • Innovative Program Grant
    • Awarded to member agencies interested in developing new programs, activities or events not funded by their agency (up to $2,500)
  • Organizational Development Grant

    • Awarded to member agencies interested in developing agency wide initiatives, community outreach, or those working toward financial sustainability in the face of escalating operating costs (up to $2,500)

Review dates for all scholarships and certifications:

  • Applications submitted will be reviewed monthly by the APRF Scholarship Committee. Allow at least one (1) month for notification of your application’s status. The APRF Scholarship Committee encourages applicants to submit their application at least three (3) months in advance of their payment due date for the applicable conference, certification, training program etc.
  •  There is limited scholarship funding available and priority will be given to those applicants that have not already received recent funding.. Once the funding threshold has been met, no additional scholarships will be awarded for the year.
